Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves - Estimate Summary »
Pampalo East is approx. 100 m east of the Pampalo’s gold zone lying in the main ore horizon. The zone consists of separate silicified feldspar porphyries and felsic volcanite lodes which are found in talc-chlorite-rich rock types. The size of these lodes vary from a few metres to 100 metre. In his time geologist Peter Ward found the first gold grain in Pampalo area from an outcrop belonging to this zone. The gold value in Pampalo E correlates with pyrite and scheelite, just like in Pampalo. The rock that are not mineralised contain very little sulphides.
Gold mineralisation at Pampalo East is associated with felsic intrusives and form in narrow zones containing thin quartz tourmaline veins with disseminated pyrrhotite, pyrite, scheelite and arsenopyrite. The felsic intrusives have intruded into a series of ultramafic units with contact skarns forming on the margins with the intrusives.
The resource and reserve estimates comply with recommendations in the Australasian Code for Reporting of Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves prepared in 2004 by the Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC).
The majority of the resource was classified as Indicated Mineral Resource as the drill spacing was generally 20m by 20m which demonstrated consistent lode and grade continuity with a reasonable level of confidence. The remainder of the resource was classified as Inferred Mineral Resource due to decreased drill density resulting in decreased confidence levels of the grade continuity.
